The Dangers of Diet Soda
One of my readers indicated that diet soda is not recommended as a healthy way to get plenty of fluids in your daily diet. This is true as a general statement because all diet sodas are not created equal. Many have ingredients like salt, certain minerals, artificial sweeteners and other chemical additives that are not safe to consume in large quantities.
Water, selzer with a little added flavoring like lemon or lime juice and drinks like green tea are better for you and less risky from a health standpoint. Some people drink spring water, but if you have good tap water, this would be less expensive and more readily available.
Many juice products, though good for you, are too loaded up with sugar and calories to drink in any large quantity. Stick with six ounces or so per day of orange juice, apple juice or the lower calorie variety of these products.
So drink plenty of the right fluids to stay healthy.
