Gardening Growing Pains
While my yard and gardens are certainly not as lush and green as in this summer picture, I am starting to see evidence of some greenery growth. Soon, I will get some exercise by raking through some of the worst of the leftover leaves and give the new stuff a better chance to poke through the ground.
Gardening is not only good exercise for the body, it is great for the mind as well. Watching plants grow from small seedlings to full size stalks gives you a great feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment.
And while this is all good - mind, body and spiritual exercise, be careful about doing too much bending, stretching and raking without a little warm up, or you will be feeling growing pains of your own. It seems too, the older we get, the more places we can find that ache.
Enjoy the beauty of spring and get those seeds ready for the spring planting to come.
