Beach Blanket Blogging
One of the things I have learned about myself is the fact that I am not always so good at living in the moment. As much as I want to be there, fully experiencing every aspect of my existence - from embracing someone to brushing my teeth, it is hard to be there all the time with every ounce of your being.
So, that being said, I realize that there is some value in living out of the moment. By this I mean that I can get much satisfaction from the anticipation of a fun event, like vacation, just by thinking about it, counting down the days, and making plans for what I will do while I am away.
Many people are not as fortunate as I am in one respect. Although I am disabled and cannot work full time anymore, I am the master of my own clock and have discretionary time to plan and do stuff. So I like to take advantage of that fact and look forward to fun times in the future, basking in the sun on a beach blanket as the waves roll in to tickle my bare toes.
I guess we all live a little bit in the past, a bit more in the future and hopefully, live each day to the fullest when it is in our grasp.
